Our Mission

VIYU is a social platform for adults (18+) to share human-created work, express creativity, and have authentic conversations without performance pressure. VIYU may use technology, including AI-assisted tools, for security, moderation, and platform operations, but posts on VIYU must be created by people. We prioritize authenticity, mutual respect, and community trust.

Core Principles

Be Real

Posts must be human-created. AI-generated posts, prohibited bots, and automated scripts are not permitted.

Be Respectful

No harassment, hate speech, threats, or targeted digital attacks.

Be Responsible

You are responsible for everything you post, claim, or share.

Respect Boundaries

Use messaging appropriately and respect other members' messaging preferences. Spam or unwanted outreach may result in restrictions.

What We Do Not Allow

To keep VIYU a place for human-created posts among adults, the following are not allowed:

  • AI-Generated Posts & Prohibited Automation: Posting AI-generated text or media, or deploying bots, automated scripts, scrapers, data-harvesting tools, or artificial engagement (fake likes or reposts).
  • Impersonation & Fraud: Misrepresenting your identity, stealing another person's likeness, or utilizing fake credentials.
  • Violence & Threats: Postings that depict, glorify, incite, or threaten physical violence against any individual or group.
  • Harassment & Hate Speech: Attacking, intimidating, bullying, or dehumanizing individuals based on race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, disability, or age.
  • Explicit Adult Content: Publishing or transmitting non-consensual pornography, illegal sexual exploitation materials, or content violating adult platform standards. Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) is strictly prohibited and is reported to NCMEC and authorities as required by law enforcement.
  • Malicious Misinformation: Presenting false medical claims, unverified legal directives, or fraudulent financial advice as established fact. VIYU is not a professional advisory authority; users are solely liable for the real-world impact of their claims.

Account Review & Approval

Every new account is manually reviewed before approval. VIYU reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to decline, reject, or refuse approval of any account or profile — including profile photos and profile information — that does not meet our registration and community guidelines. Declined applicants are welcome to register again with updated profile information.

Verification and Account Tiers (18+ Adult Model)

VIYU uses account tiers to help keep the platform adults-only, limit spam and prohibited automation, and support authentic participation.

1. Optional Identity Verification Badges

Verification is optional and is handled by Stripe Identity, which confirms identity and adult status to the extent supported by its service. Unverified members can still post, but posting freely, including full Café access and posting in the News (journalism) room, requires verification. Badges confirm identity only and do not verify degrees, licenses, enrollment, or professional expertise.

🟢 Green Badge: Student Role (Adult identity verified via Stripe Identity)

🔵 Blue Badge: Professional Role (Adult identity verified via Stripe Identity)

2. The Tagging System

Users can tag other profiles in posts. To prevent harassment or spam, recipients can control their tagging permissions inside their Account Settings.

Café Access & Safety Restrictions

The Café is VIYU's discussion space for adults. To limit spam and prohibited automation, Café access depends on your verification status:

  • Verified Members (Yellow, Green, or Blue Badges): Full Platform Access. Verified users can create independent threads, open topic rooms, and reply to posts without limits.
  • Unverified Accounts: Limited Access. Unverified members can still participate with limits until they complete optional verification.
  • Flagged Accounts: Access may be paused pending review. Security signals may flag an account for review, but a flag alone does not establish bot activity, and inactivity alone is not treated as suspicious. Restriction or removal generally follows review, except where immediate action is needed for a serious security, safety, or legal concern.

Enforcement and the Strike System

VIYU protects its community through human review and automated safety tools. VIYU may review and remove content that violates these guidelines, but cannot guarantee that every violation will be detected or removed immediately.

No AI Training: Our safety tools analyze metadata and behavioral signals to help detect prohibited automation. VIYU does not use your posts, media, or personal identifiers to train external AI tools or large language models.

News Room Accountability: VIYU reserves the right to strip, restrict, or remove sensitive posts in designated News Topic Rooms if the content lacks proper context, misrepresents factual current events, or compromises our platform-wide safety mission.

The Strike Protocol

  • 1st Violation: Formal Warning + immediate content removal.
  • 2nd Violation: Permanent account removal.
  • Severe Violations: Uploading CSAM, making violent threats, operating bot networks, or attempting to bypass the 18+ age restriction will result in permanent removal on the first offense, and may be reported to authorities where legally required or appropriate.

Moderation and strike decisions can be formally appealed by contacting our support desk.

Future Lab Challenges

VIYU may periodically host community challenges through Future Lab. Each challenge may include its own eligibility requirements, submission criteria, deadlines, selection process, and rewards.

Eligible submissions will be reviewed according to the criteria provided for that challenge. VIYU aims to evaluate submissions fairly and consistently and may use moderators, reviewers, community feedback, or other disclosed evaluation methods depending on the challenge.

Participation does not guarantee selection or a reward. Attempts to manipulate voting, submit fraudulent entries, use bots, plagiarize another person's work, or otherwise interfere with the integrity of a challenge may result in disqualification.

Any applicable rewards, restrictions, and additional conditions will be disclosed before participation.
